Women’s Health
As a self-described crunchy and holistic person (there’s room for eastern, western, and functional medicine), I have experience working with individuals that are navigating the medical system. Individuals have sought therapy while they experience somatic symptoms that they haven’t gotten to the root cause of.
One common theme among this demographic is, “I have this pain and I wonder if stored trauma is a factor, can EMDR help?”
Additionally, I support women with general anxiety and/or negative thought patterns that are interfering with their day-to-day life.
Perinatal Mental Health
Trying to conceive, infertility, pregnancy, birth and postpartum. For some, the journey to parenthood is one of the hardest paths they will walk. For others, it’s easy to get to parenthood and the postpartum period is the hardest. There’s so much variety to the human experience in this space.
This can look like navigating the stressors of IVF, experiencing anxiety and depression while pregnant, or postpartum, experienced birth trauma and more.
If you’re thinking that your postpartum was too long ago for support please reach out. There’s no expiration on what can be supportive for you.
Trauma
Trauma is subjective. Trauma is an experience that overwhelms the system and is not integrated, and therefore lives in the nervous system as if the experience is happening in the present tense.
Types of trauma include, but are not limited to: emotional, physical, sexual, harassment/bullying, religious, birth, and every day stressors that build up over time.
